Suburban Kids With Biblical Names - The Comeback!
They've been gone so long that I almost assumed Suburban Kids With Biblical Names had become history. Ok, they haven't been gone that long, but I'm such a big fan that it feels like they've been gone for a century. Their new EP "#4" is released on Wednesday 4 February and you can pre-order it here. They've released one of their songs for free (see below), and you can also listen to two more on their Myspace. I'm not exactly blown away by the songs at the moment, but then I'm quite tired and not really in the mood for listening to new SKWBN songs. I'm sure the songs are great, just let me have a good night's sleep before I listen to them properly. Hopefully their album will be released shortly, followed by some UK gigs. Ciao.

Suburban Kids going to Manchester in August
Suburban Kids with Biblical Names are playing a one day festival in Manchester on Saturday 2nd August called A Day At The Races. It looks like it could be a pretty swell day, with Jeffrey Lewis, Nina Nastasia, Adem and some other folks performing. If I feel a bit adventerous I might go up there and mingle with the folk freaks, that is if I don’t go here. There’s a new song on SKWBN’s Myspace page called “Europa”. Not perhaps as great as most of their other stuff, but then it’s from a Spanish compilation (nothing against Spanish compilations, but it’s hardly the place for hidden pieces of gold, or are they? Maybe I've missed out). SKWBN are usually fun live, so let’s hope that they do some more UK shows while over here. They were such an new and exciting band, and then I'm not sure what happened, perhaps they got tired of it all. I Springfactory and Johan Hedberg's solo stuff are ok, but nothing compared to the real thing. Speaking of tiredness, I’m so tired, I need to go to the park and sleep a bit. Good night

Suburban Kid

Labrador are releasing Johan Hedberg's (from Suburban Kids With Biblical Names fame) great "5-spårs EP" on 10" vinyl and limited to 500 copies. It was released earlier this year on Cosy Den, but Labrador are now reiussing it with a couple of bonus tracks. Hooray for them! I've got myself a copy already! You go and get yourself one too. Everyone loves Suburban Kids With Biblical Names! They're just like Jens Lekman, but two! Or, not exactly like Jens Lekman, but they're charming and indie with a healthy dose of twee in the mix (just like Lekman). Judging by the press photos it also looks as if Johan has abandoned his geek look for a hipster upgrade. Good for him! Anyway, check out "Var dig själv" from the EP:
